This is a great set of 252 casino style gaming plaques - or poker chips - ranging in value from 20 - 10,000 points, cased in a red, padded leather, 2 level carrying case made by M.R Canoa, Argentina. The leather case has 2 levels. The first level is a lift out tray with the plaques and beneath that is room for cards, dice, or other gaming items. For safety and security, the case has 2 locking clasps and includes 2 keys.

The plaques - or chips - are various colors and value denominations. There are: 20 points - 46 pcs., 50 points - 48 pcs., 100 points - 35 pcs., 500 points - 36 pcs., 1,000 points - 30 pcs., 5,000 points - 30 pcs., 10,000 points - 15 pcs. and house or 'caja' - 12 pcs. The smallest plaque or chip - the 20 - measures 1 1/8 inch square and the largest plaque or chip - the 10,000 - is an oval measuring approx. 2 9/16 inches by 1 5/8 inches.

The general thickness of the plaques is 1/8 inch but it looks like some may vary up to 1/16 inch more. Both clasps show very light soil and minimal wear but both work well and lock securely. This set appears to have been frequently used but was generally well cared for and probably dates from the 1960's or 1970's. The case measures 16 inches wide by 9 1/4 inches high (10 inches high with handle and locks) by 3 3/4 inches deep. There is a cut about 1/2 inch long near each side front corner and shows light wear, a few rubs and minimal soil. The bottom seam on one side may need to be re-glued ...... $1,225
