I've continuely found this to be a fascinatingly curious book. The CODEX SERAPHINIANUS is written entirely in a mysterious, and as-of-yet, undeciphered language. Although the author states that the text has no meaning, it seems that for some years now a lot of folks have been putting a whole lot of time and energy into trying to decipher this work. The numerous illustrations provide insights into the flora, fauna, inhabitants, and society of a non-existent world. These imagination stimulating drawings show skeletons being reassembled into people, fish that resemble eyes, the animals that make up a rainbow, and other wonderfully strange examples of a different reality.

First published in a limited Italian edition in 1981, this is a copy of the First American Edition published by Abbeville Press in 1983. The book and dust wrap are in VG/VG condition and book is not an ex-library, remaindered or a print-on-demand edition. The book is clean, pages bright with no interior markings, straight and has sharp corners, shows very light handling and shelf wear, but has a light bump on the bottom front edge. The dust wrap shows light handling, shelfwear, edge creases, some toning of the upper interior corners and a few light indentations that do not translate to the book cover ...... $1,650.00
